Francis in Strathmore

When francis came to KTDP in 2011 just after completing his form four exams, he did not think that the relationship between him and ktdp would grow for all this years. He had just graduated from high school and wanted an affordable college in kibera slums for him to acquire basic college training. He got much more. Not only did he attain his computer skills, KTDP offered him an opportunity to worked as a volunteer in KTDP  for three months and later to work as a computer tutor assistant for one year.

In order to help him realize his dream of becoming a Certified Public  Accountant  KTDP offered to pay his tuition at Strathmore University in Nairobi.. Francis Mang'ee is now preparing for the KASNEB(Kenya Accountancy and Secretaries National Examination Board ) CPA exams  to be done in May. He is presently at Section two.

Francis has been in school since July 2012, and KTDP will continue to support him for as long as we can.

We take this opportunity to thank all our donors for helping Francis realize his dream.

Beginning this year the time he has joined high school, he has opened another chapter of his life towards fulfilling his dreams. We hope to stand with these young people to help their future get brighter.

Vacational in session

tailoring class

Salon class

Vocational classes also didn’t start with good number of students because many students remained upcountry after Christmas holiday to wait the election to take place first. Many parents feared there may be violence like last time, but it went well and now they have started settling back and so the vocation has started picking up.

Academy on session

Academy picked on well  though not fully, this being the period of election that made many parents take their children upcountry to wait the final outcome of the election. Kibera was one of the most hit by the 2007/2008 post-election violence, so many parents did not want to take any chance, But this time kibera remained calm throughout the election period. Now many people are settling back and the children are settling back to school

This year academy added another class, which is class two. Though the class has not received good number of the students, they are hoping it will do well next term.

Joshua Mua one of the sponsored students who sat for their KCPE exams has joined secondary school in form one.
He has been admitted in Tala Boys High school. Joshua worked hard in Primary and we believe he will do better in secondary.  KTDP is determined to stand in the place of these students’ parents and guardians and do what they could not have done by helping them  go through their education and come to fulfill their dream in life.
We wish Joshua and all the others joining form one all the best as they start a new chapter /level of their lives.
