Computer class

Part of our work involves preparing the students for the future, and the future is in a very computerized society .KTDP computer school offers them a chance to obtain computer training in basic computer use and office programs. due to the high rate of unemployment, young people can be able to use the computer skills to set up small businesses where they can offer typing and typesetting, and design services. All one needs is a computer and a place to work from.
Some of our students have been able to obtain full time and part time jobs using the skills gained. We have continued to encourage the people of kibera and our former and continuing students in the other projects to join and obtain computer skills besides their individual vocational skills i.e. Hairdressing and Beauty, Tailoring and embroidery.

Open Day for the vocational Projects

The students were free to air out their views and give their suggestion of how they may want their projects to be improved. The teachers also talked to the students on various topics. The main area that was handled is the one affecting many youths in kibera.eg early pregnancies, early marriages and drug abuse, and how it affects learning. The students were asked to share their challenges with us so that we can help them finish their course instead of dropping out of school.

We held a very successful open day with vocational students (tailoring and dressmaking, embroidery, hairdressing and beauty and computer projects).

On the Open day, we have a session for all ktdp staffs and all vocational students. These sessions helps us to interact, and improve the welfare of the students and the quality of the service we offer all around. This is more so as we are able to see the issues from the students perspective, listen to their concerns and expectations.

The students were happy to recieve their results. Six out of the six studentswho sat for their exams passed.

KTDP tailoring class has continued to perform better with each passing year. We are exited that we are producing well rounded graduates into the society.
