class parents and teachers meetings

the class parents and teachers meetings were held successfully. The parents were open and raised various concerns including the desire for their children to be taken out for educational trips and play more often.
The parents also showed a great interest in our new class one but requested that we go up to class 3. While this is a matter for consideration for the whole program , it is pleasant to see that the community recognizes the quality of education and care they get from KTDP.
Also chief among the issues raised was the recent changes in the education system in Kenya. the parents shared with the teachers their thoughts on the changes proposed. The foreword of the government ECD framework reads :The Government of the Republic of Kenya recognizes the importance of Early-childhood Development, as one of the most important levers for accelerating the
attainment of Education For All (EFA) and the Millennium Development Goals(MDG; we believe that giving quality Pre primary education will enhance the future of Kibera residents to contribute to the future of Kenya.
